Davidson County, NC, will be moved from area code 704 to 910 (an existing
neighboring area code) on August 1, 1996.  The change involves the cities 
of Lexington, Churchland, Reeds, Southmont, Welcome, and Denton.  

At the same time, five of these central office codes will change to
avoid duplication in area code 910.  These are marked with asterisks:
